When the GORE-TEX Brand set out to spotlight their cutting-edge WINDSTOPPER® by GORE-TEX Labs fabric in the Nordics, We created a concept that would fuse functionality with the raw beauty of Nordic nature.We crafted a creative collaboration between GORE-TEX, iconic Icelandic outerwear brand 66°North, and Swedish graphic designer Axel Wahl – aka Wawa Print Shop. The result: a limited series of 1-of-1 showcase pieces, each one a tribute to both advanced textile innovation and the untamed environments it’s made for.Our concept drew inspiration from the tension between high-performance tech and the brutal yet beautiful Nordic climate – the very conditions where WINDSTOPPER® thrives. Axel Wahl translated this into bold, expressive artwork. Starting with hand-drawn pencil sketches, his process captured the wild elements 66°North was built to endure. These illustrations were then digitized and printed by hand in the Wawa Print Shop studio onto WINDSTOPPER® products.The collection was created exclusively for the GORE-TEX Brand’s Nordic Activity Team – a visual and wearable celebration of WINDSTOPPER® technology, the relentless power of nature, and the creative energy that defines life in the North.The limited collection was also showcased during Paris Fashion Week in January 2025.
